As with so many wines from Blaye, this is dominated by Merlot. That gives a ripe full wine that is spicy and full of black-plum fruits. Firm tannins still show through the fruits that are balanced by acidity. The wine still needs to age, so drink from 2018. || The Sauvignon/Sémillon blend is herbal, green and grassy. It has a tight character, tangy and zesty with bright acidity and a crisp aftertaste. It could do with a few more months, so drink from 2016.
