Black pepper, smoke, grilled bread and other robust flavors come to mind when sipping this big, distinctive and well-made wine. While ripe and full bodied, it's not overly fruity or jammy, and retains a sense of reserve and strength along with a very firm backbone of tannin. Best to drink after 2020.
