A very good wine from a not-so-good vintage. The bouquet hits firmly with black cherry, almond paste, leather and even a touch of refined horseradish. It's as precise and tight as the palate, which offers tannic but rewarding cherry and plum. A lively, racy, real wine that's playing at the highest level. Holding it to high standards, we find it just short of excellent.
