A big, roasted and fiery nose is act one, while act two offers a raisiny palate with black cherry and cassis flavors. This is a saturated, rough, gritty wine that's defined by baked, dark flavors and then coffee and roasted fruit on the finish. A hot-climate wine with integrity but marginal balance.
