This bottling comes from a vineyard belonging to winemaker Bill Brousseau's parents on the Salinas Valley's eastern slopes. The nose intrigues with iron-laced purple fruits and a touch of feral beef jerky. Blackberry and black pepper show on the palate, as does shaved nutmeg, dark chocolate shavings, bay leaf and a tart coffee element.
