Oaky aromas of maple and molasses are overriding and ponderous. In the mouth, this is tannic and punishing. Flavors of coconut and chocolate are overly dominant, leaving nothing but candied stickiness and wood resin on the finish. || Creamy oak along with toast, vanilla and mocha are the lead aromas on this grabby, tight Rioja that hits with clampy tannins. Flavors of dried raspberry, red plum and tomato lead to an herbal-tasting, high-toned finish that's juicy and a bit hot and scouring.
