The green apple and menthol toast bouquet shows some unusual tobacco-like aromas that are usually associated with red wines. A sip reveals mint, apple and caramel flavors on a full, oaky frame. Nicely balanced and still tight, it ends with slightly subdued but persistent caramel and toast flavors. Previous vintages of this Santa Barbara classic have performed well—often better—after cellaring.
