Grown in a south-facing site on limestone soil a mile east of Carmel Valley Village, this wine is dark and silky in the glass, with thick but not overripe blueberry and elderberry aromas, enhanced with sarsaparilla, smoked beef and crushed walnut notes. The palate is lush but vibrant with acidity, blending dark berry flavors with toasted oak, earth and cocoa spice.
