This limited-production bottling shows its cool-climate origins in the high acidity and barely-ripened flavors of cherries and rhubarb that have a slightly green, minty edge. The Califa designation is the winery's reserve style. Significant oak has added smoky, spicy layers of interest, but the wine is still fairly austere, and meant for early drinking.
