This baby starts out like any child; it's awkward and clumsy. But it's also nicely extracted and chewy, with ripe plum fruit, hints of licorice and a culminating toasty, slightly burnt note. The finish is tight and beefy, with good tannins, while overall it's enjoyable to drink even if it doesn't pretend to be highly sophisticated.
