This Barolo's subdued fragrance shows cherry, espresso and toasted oak. The palate is somewhat closed, but reveals black cherry, coffee, toasted oak and vanilla. It has a short finish and aggressive, astringent tannins. Reflecting the hot vintage, it lacks obvious freshness.
