Dark and powerful, with plenty of tight-grained oaky notes, hickory and black fruit on the nose. Apple-skin and black-fruit flavors give way to a tannic, chocolaty finish that's as firm as a buttress. Some juicy acidity rounds out the package, which is substantive and rock solid.
