Cocoa powder, anise and cowhide aromas lead, with hints of fresh currants. Juicy cherry and ripe raspberry are appealing on the palate, paving the way for sweet baking spices and vanilla. The tannins are disjointed from this soft-structured, fruit-forward offering. The lack of acidity is most apparent on the finish, which shows overripe cherry and hints of clove.
