This pure Carignan from 80-year-old vines is really interesting aromatically, featuring hints of clove, cinnamon and lavender, but its substantial tannins clamp down hard on the palate, raising the question of whether it has enough fruit concentration to age successfully. Drink now with tannin-taming rare beef or lamb, or cellar it and hope.
