Aromas of cured meat, stewed fruit and toasted oak lead the nose. On the ripe palate, notes of powdered sage, vanilla and oak spices accent fleshy black plum. Bracing tannins provide the framework, but drink soon to capture the fruit richness. || Aromas of baked plum, vanilla, menthol and star anise lead the nose. The ripe, robust palate offers fig, raisin, licorice, dried mint and tobacco alongside solid tannins. Give the tannins a few more years to soften up then drink to capture the remaining fruit richness. || …
