This opens with earthy aromas of tilled soil, leather, game, dark berry and graphite. The firm palate offers up juicy blackberry, dried black cherry, notes of grilled porcini, peppercorn, thyme and tobacco alongside velvety tannins. It closes on a licorice note. Hold for complexity. Drink 2016–2022.
