Subdued on the nose, this has a good concentration of fruit and a strong structure, buoyed by firm acidity. The finish is long and lingering. || This roasted and rustically pleasing Montepulciano, which is hard to find in California, has dry tannins, a layer of boysenberry and a leathery mouthfeel. Pair it with roasted chicken or rich risotto.
