Merlot is a variety that receives little respect—or accolades—in Australia, but this one is a cut above the rest. The complex nose is classic Chinese tea and herbs with some Shiraz-like tar notes that lead into plum and raspberry flavors in the mouth. Finishes a bit short but with a nice, coconut-infused acidic lift.
