From a vineyard planted 50 years ago, this effort comes across as forced. Unfined and unfiltered, its hands-off style of winemaking does not do the old vine flavors any favors. Its partial new oak aging also masks its textural details with butter and coconut notes. Unique for sure, but somewhat fraught.
