Seems like the brutal heat of 2003 got to this wine in a negative way. The result is a thick, unctuous, syrupy wine with a ton of sweetness but not much balance. The alcohol is listed at 15.5%, and it seems bigger. Very much a heavyweight, and with no agility. || Excelencia is a great wine that offers a lot of character beyond just bold fruit and body.
