This is smooth and full, and has got the requisite black cherry fruit, some lemon rind and pineapple peeking through the acids. In the finish are suggestions, just a lick, of tobacco, wild cherry, maybe sweet ham. Gets interesting in the end, though it remains very tart and acidic. || The addition of 6% Grenache to the blend is effective, contributing bright spicy red fruit highlights. The Syrah is varietal, with bloody beef, dried herb and dark, peppery fruit. It shows a little too much heat in the finish. || The …
